Title :
Evaluation of 3D pointers and annotations on autostereoscopic displays for 3D video communications
Author_Institution :

Abstract :
The use of three-dimensional (3D) pointers and annotations on autostereoscopic displays was evaluated using a prototype personal 3D videoconferencing system. The evaluation focused on the use of autostereoscopic displays, which are easy to use because they do not require wearing special glasses. The evaluation showed that the 3D pointing and annotating operations provided by the system were easy to understand and easy to use. The 3D video, telepointers, and annotations were considered useful by the participants who could easily see stereoscopic views.
