Abstract
The operation and management of a wind turbine power plant are not significantly different from that for a traditional power station, yet offers unique challenges. The lessons-learned from successful management of traditional power plants are just as applicable to this technology and will ultimately improve the safety, reliability, and investment returns of the wind power facility. This paper will review some of the major considerations in managing the operation of a wind turbine power station including operations, maintenance, environmental issues, community & governmental relations, and workforce sustainability.
