Abstract
We propose a self-oscillating PWM Class D audio amplifier with dual voltage and current feedback. The voltage feedback is taken after the output filter to mitigate any negative effects of the output filter. The current feedback is employed to mitigate the switching ripple voltage and its associated power dissipation. Simulation results using discrete components show that the proposed amplifier achieves the lowest THD+N of 0.04 % at 25 mW output power, and a maximum power efficiency of 94 % at 1.7 W output power with a THD+N of 1.18 %.
