Abstract :
During the incidence of major disturbances in a large interconnected power network, frequency deviates from its nominal value. This deviation affects the estimated parameters of the phasor. This is especially very important during fault in transmission lines and generator terminals, because under fault conditions, the exponentially decaying dc component appears in current and voltage signals. An innovative hybrid method for dynamic phasor and frequency estimation is represented in this paper. Fundamental mathematics of the proposed algorithm is based on utilizing Taylor series and Nonlinear Least Squares. To increase the effectiveness of the phasor and frequency estimation, the least square method is improved. Algorithm performance has been investigated by using signals which are generated in MATLAB and PSCAD/EMTDC software. Evaluation results demonstrate that algorithm is faster and more accurate than present methods in pursuing the signal variations. This characteristic is significant, especially in fault event. In addition, simple calculations and low-latency in estimation are the other advantages of this method. This feature makes the proposed method a good performance in Real-time simulation of power systems.
