Abstract :
The currently ongoing discussion about large scale increase of electro mobility supposes a high acceptance of electrical vehicles by the public. To achieve a high acceptance, beyond the ecological aspects, the availability and the short-term flexibility of use are of essential importance. Quick charging leads directly to numerous technical questions regarding the integration of high power charging stations in rural areas. Dynamic reactive power compensation and a short term on demand active power supply on site can be an appropriate approach to realise high power charging with adequate technical efforts. The investigation results of these approaches for intelligent integration of high power charging stations in distribution grids will be discussed. Furthermore, the mains pollution by harmonics will be examined and discussed in the scope of a detailed investigation of the battery charger.
