Abstract
Two advances in diode-array pump technology have made possible the expansion of the performance envelope of diode-pumped solid-state lasers. These developments are the commercialization of reliable high-duty-cycle diode arrays. We will discuss two examples of state-of-the-art, high-power diode-pumped laser systems. The first is a frequency-doubled Nd:YAG rod laser developed for a military sensor system. The second laser system is a high-average power, high-brightness diode pumped industrial laser.
