Abstract :
In this paper a model of power limited energy system is presented. It consists of conventional generating units as well as of renewable power plants with stochastic dynamics nature. A new approach for wind power plants integration into an automatic generation control system is investigated. It ensures a grid-friendly response to variations in wind speed and system responds and also provides economic options for grid operation under challenging conditions. Different wind turbine power control strategies providing effective support of power balancing and frequency control functions are investigated. The system model is developed by the graphical user interface of Matlab. This approach allows to explore different wind- and load dynamics models and therefore to examine their impact on the system dynamics performance.
