Abstract :
Since the early 1990´s, researchers working at the University of Kentucky (UK) Accelerator Laboratory have used in-house-developed graphical data acquisition systems that acquire data via interaction with CAMAC electronics. The CAMAC crate controller used previously was the DSP Model 6001, which, while excellent when first produced, had many limitations, including a computer interface that prevented the computer hardware from being upgraded. In an effort to overcome these difficulties, a Kmax-based data acquisition system has been developed. Using the tools available in Kmax 9, we have implemented several features into the current UK data acquisition system that were not present in any previous system, and additional developments are in progress.
