Abstract :
In the production of pre-stressed steel strand, the key step of the process of hard-drawn is post-welding tempering. Almost 95% of the ruptures are caused by improper tempering. In this paper, with the support of the MINITAB software, we use tool of DOE to design and improve the tempering technology of cold drawing process in high speed wire rod of GL Company. The experiment table of fact-level was composed by 2 factors and 3 levels. We found the best combination of parameters of tempering through tests. As the results, the rate of nonperforming production declined significantly, the produce costs reduced and the company´s competitiveness enhanced.
