Abstract
Existing 802.11 networks can not be used in the industrial field because of the requirement of real-time communication, safety, and stability in the industrial communication. A method is studied to use a backup AP to replace the failure AP immediately, which adds a new redundancy AP. The redundancy AP can real-time switch its status when the AP stop working because of some predictable errors. The method contributes to the realization of reliable 802.11 networks with fail-safety, which can be applied in the industrial communication widely.
