  • Abstract
The importance for firm performance of Business Strategy - IS Strategy (BS-ISS) alignment and Business Culture-IS culture (BC-ISC) alignment has been separately recognized in the empirical and theoretical literature. In this paper, we posit that BC-ISC alignment leads to BS-ISS alignment which drives firm performance and BC-ISC alignment leads to firm performance directly. Survey data from 155 firms confirms BS-ISS alignment partially mediates the link between BC-ISC alignment and firm performance. These new findings demonstrate the relation between BS-ISS alignment and BC-ISC alignment and suggest that they are important business resources since they significantly improve firm performance.
