Abstract :
Photostimulated currents (PSC) of corona-charge FEP and polytetrafluoroethylene Teflon electrets were observed in order to understand the charging mechanism of dielectric films. Very weak current of the order of 10 or 100 fA was found when monochromated UV photons from a D2 lamp irradiated the film through the semitransparent electrode. It was observed that the current value and polarity are dependent on the thickness of the semitransparent electrode. The current is mostly due to charge injection from the electrode caused by the photoirradiation
