Abstract :
This paper examines Singapore´s ongoing efforts and strategies to mitigate carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from the power generation sector to achieve 2020 emission reduction targets. Our study reveals that there are still important gaps, especially if the aim is to achieve energy security in a future-oriented way and generating sustainable, reliable and competitively-priced electricity. The paper outlines options by which Singapore can employ energy sources to reduce CO2 emissions from the power generation sector beyond 2020.
