Abstract :
This paper describes the operation of a three-phase PWM power converter under disturbances caused by inevitable power faults. The output voltage ripple from input power unbalances-especially caused by a single line-to-ground fault (SLGF)-is analyzed to represent the amplitude of the ripple with some given parameters. This paper also shows that some converters´ operation can be unstable when using a synchronous frame controller by unbalanced input power resulted from a SLGF. The authors discuss a method that makes the power converter run within a certain voltage ripple boundary even under faulted power conditions. Finally, the operation of the discussed power converter is simulated and experimented upon in order to verify the results
