Abstract :
In this paper, we develop and discuss a special-purpose computational ontology (similar to the notion of conceptual grammar) termed GRITIKA (acronym for goal, role, interaction, task, information, knowledge, and agent) for modeling e-services applications in the multiagent-based integrative business information systems (MIBIS) universe. The foundation ontology is presented as a formal model using first order logic. A proof-of-concept illustration of the GRITIKA ontology for modeling e-service applications is also provided in the paper. The GRITIKA ontology embodies representation constructs and semantics specific to the MIBIS universe and we hope it will help in the analysis and design of e-services applications with a high degree of knowledge reuse.
