Abstract :
The performance of TCP will get worsen in wireless condition which has changing bandwidth, random transmission errors and sharing medium. We present an improved TCP acknowledge mechanism, and provide a new receiver-driven TCP congestion control method which calculates current bandwidth and round-turn time (RTT) at receiver, and deduces next available bandwidth used by the sender according to previous bandwidth calculated. The value of available bandwidth is sent to the sender as sending bandwidth by fewer ACKs. Compared with other schemes, our scheme improves TCP performance in wireless environment in evidence. The simulation results show our method improves TCP throughput effectively.
