Abstract
There is a move towards combined energy supply where renewable energy sources can be utilized in an integrated and hybrid manner to provide the required energy supply. It is possible to provide flexible energy supply strategies based on combined energy technologies where different energy conversion technologies can selected dynamically based on resources availability and energy demand. This research paper describes a new energy supply device called Hybrid Energy Supply Unit or HENSU, which is proposed to supply reliable energy while balancing energy production among different technologies. Energy production chain scenarios are proposed and their impacts on the engineering design of HENSU are described.
