Abstract :
A simple algorithm is developed and implemented for the analysis of 2-D models of waveguide antenna arrays with protruding smooth dielectric elements. The method of auxiliary sources is used in combination with the method of integral equations for the electric field on the waveguide aperture. Testing of the algorithm has shown its ability to obtain accurate results for various cases of practical interest. Numerical analysis has shown that in some cases the appropriate choice of the protrusion shape allows the elimination of the element pattern notches intrinsic to the waveguide-dielectric arrays while maintaining good array matching.<>
