Abstract
The management of Virtual Enterprises (VE) in developing countries faces different challenges then in industrialized countries. However, using the framework proposed by the Agility Forum as reference, some analysis can be done. In developing countries deficits in infrastructure have to be regarded, yet the cultural behavior in these areas outlines potentials for a successful application of VE. This paper discusses the adequacy of the VE strategy for industries in developing countries, their local infrastructures, and requirements towards the VE management. Finally, the approach of the “GVE testbed” towards an accelerated implementation of VE projects between Brazil and Germany is described
