Abstract
The acquisition of knowledge is an important factor for enterprises to stay in competition. In this context, especially the integration of structured and unstructured data is a vital task and has been subject to research for many years. Opposed to other integration strategies, we propose an architecture that relies on first-order logic as a semantical foundation. Using a controlled natural language, which is a first-order logic equivalent subset of natural language, further enables the user to be involved in the process of information integration and thus creates the essential transparency.
