Abstract
The authors compare the results obtained by the physical theory of diffraction (PTD) and the method of moments (MoM) in the frequency regime where their regions of applicability overlap with a view to identifying the deficiencies of the PTD. They then propose a hybrid technique for improving the PTD results, over a wide frequency range, by using a combination of the MoM solution and an extrapolation technique.<>
