Abstract
We describe and evaluate protocols for the selection, adjustment, and adaptation of transmission parameters for sessions in dynamic spectrum access networks, the protocols respond to time and frequency assignments that are provided for a session by a spectrum access system, select the modulation format and the initial code rate for the session, adjust the initial transmitter power to compensate for any errors in propagation-loss estimates, and adapt the code rate throughout the session to variations in the propagation loss
