Abstract :
Nowadays, there is a great interest to develop systems which cover wide frequency bands. Power dividers are key elements in these systems. In this paper, a new technique for the design of ultra-broadband power dividers based on tapered lines is presented. The key elements are the tapered lines, because they perform wider bands. To improve this 3-port circuit response, resistive elements are used. In order to validate this technique, a 3-12 GHz power divider has been designed, covering the UWB communications band, and developed in microstrip technology. The circuit measurements show a good performance.
