Abstract
A spectra domain analysis of rectangular microstrip patch resonators on magnetized ferrite substrates is developed, by using a combination of the Hertz vector potentials and Galerkin´s method. In this procedure, the electric and magnetic fields are defined in terms of the Hertz vector potential functions, which are assumed to be oriented along the ferrite magnetization direction, for the calculation of the impedance matrix for the structure considered. Galerkin´s method is then used to determine the resonant frequency. Numerical results are shown for the resonant frequency, assuming that the DC magnetic field is applied along the main axes of the microstrip patch structure.<>
