Abstract
High level performance and process design depend on management´s ability to integrate fragmented pockets of specialized knowledge. This organization´s integrative capability has important implications for knowledge integration of modern enterprise. This paper proposes a theoretical framework to probe socio-technical influences on knowledge integration by combining relevant research streams and theory construction methodology. In other words, the research model presents a new lens of social network analysis (SNA) and transactive memory systems (TMS) which portrays the mechanism of knowledge integration in contemporary organizations. The conceptual framework has superior instructional and explanatory power for both academia and practice.
