Abstract
The radiation fields of the discone antenna with an oblique cone on an elliptical disk can be obtained from the field of an equivalent Huygens source, assuming fields with a spherical TEM (transverse electromagnetic) wave on the aperture. The numerical and experimental patterns of the vertical and horizontal plane are shown for some antenna shapes. The relations between the maximum direction of the pattern and the ratio of major to minor axes of the elliptical disk are presented. The curves of the minor lobe level versus several oblique cone shapes are also presented.<>
