Abstract
Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers are subject to interference, which can decrease the performance of the GPS receiver and affect the receiver to acquire or track the GPS signals. Null steering antenna can effectively weaken the strong signal among the weak signals. Fortunately, the signal of GPS satellite is actually very weak, which is buried in the thermal noise, while interference signal is generally above the thermal noise. In this paper, the principle of the null steering antenna for GPS receivers is given. The implementation algorithm based on power inversion (PI) is analyzed and simulated in detail. The experiments of null steering antenna are carried out. Both the simulation and experiment results show that PI technique can obviously enhance the anti jamming capability of GPS receivers.
