Abstract :
Internet Time-delay is one of the most important factors which decide the performance of the Internet-based control systems. In this paper, a testing software is developed by Visual C++ to measure the round trip time (RTT) of the data packet on Internet. After analyzing the characteristics of RTT, a prediction method was presented based on data waveform processing method and unbiased grey model (UGM) to forecast Internet time delay. An experimental example is given to show that the delay prediction results by the UGM model proposed in this paper are more accurate than the prediction results based on the auto regressive (AR) model.
