Abstract :
In this paper we introduced TCP flow and its characters. We get a TCP flow set from a network data trace, and calculate the Hurst parameter of flow inter arrival time, flow length and flow life, then simulate a real flow traffic through fractal-based Neyman-Scott point process. Analysis showed that this point process can describe a real traffic on flow level better. This result can be further researched in TCP bandwidth estimate and end to end congestion control.
