Abstract :
A growing need for more efficient generation, distribution and conversion energy intensively drives exploration of new power converters topologies. The paper compares key design parameters of multilevel and three-level boost converters based on fly capacitor and clamping diodes. Main attention has been paid to three-level boost converter with clamping diode structures along with features under operation in various modes and sub-modes in static and dynamics as well. A theoretical analysis has been confirmed by large number modeling and experiments.
