Abstract
The input impedance and the radiation pattern of a circumferential slot fed at the center by an open-ended feed line are analyzed. It is cut on a thin circular cylinder as an element of a mobile base station antenna. Galerkin´s method of moments with delta-gap excitation almost succeeds in simulating the input impedance at the feed point and the radiation pattern. Model antennas have been designed in the 3 GHz band. The radiation patterns in the horizontal plane are shown; symmetrical patterns are obtained.<>
