Abstract :
The propagation of FREMP through an aircraft window was investigated by exciting the window with a fast risetime (1 ns) pulse and measuring the magnetic field at various distances from the plane of the window and measuring the current on cables that passed near the window. The fall time of the transmitted pulse was greatly reduced and the peak amplitude decreased as 1/r1.3. The amplitude of the cable current pulse decreased rapidly at locations only a fraction of a meter away
