Abstract :
A novel approach for automated RFIC circuit design & optimization is presented. It consists of genetic algorithm (GA) optimizers, which are controlled by an expert system. The combination of the two engines alleviates individual shortcomings and enhances the operation of the overall system. In this paper, the overall system and individual blocks of the expert system are described while results on the optimization of LNA and VCO designs are presented
