Abstract :
The Coordinated Multi-Point (CoMP) transmission /reception technique has been adopted one of key technologies for LTE-A system in 3GPP LTE project, which can increase the cell average and cell edge user throughput in the both uplink and downlink by joint scheduling and data processing in multiple cells/eNBs. In this paper, the principle of CoMP is introduced, and the CoMP architecture and corresponding protocols stack designs are proposed emphatically. Finally, the system simulations and results are derived to show the CoMP technique can improve the system performance and spectrum utilization greatly.
