Abstract :
A new type of waveguide bandstop filter is introduced consisting of series resonant short-circuited stubs without coupling irises. In contrast to conventional bandstop filters the designs are capable of realizing very broad stop bandwidths, and also provide an alternative design to corrugated filters for realization of waveguide lowpass filters. They differ from the latter in having larger internal dimensions, thus giving lower insertion loss and improved power handling capability.
