Abstract
In order to develop the automotive system control modules required in modern vehicles, an engineering department must have access to test and measurement facilities. These facilities must deliver, in a timely manner, data that truly reflects the spectral characteristics of the modules submitted for test. For that to happen, the engineers in charge of the test chambers must have a thorough understanding of their test systems. The foundation of that understanding must be familiarity with the ambient, or background noise, contained within each and every one of their test setups. This paper describes ambient measurements in a semi-anechoic chamber
