Abstract :
Digital Museum can provide digital ways to protect culture heritage. In this paper, we propose a method to reconstruct, compress and protect 3D models of real objects. Our method can register all the range images together and reconstruct a complete 3D model of the real object. Vertices of 3D meshes are re-classified according to the octree rule and encoded with high compression ratio. Our blind 3D watermarking and a zero-watermarking method are robust against attacks of affine transformation, simplification, vertex reordering, noise and remeshing. All these techniques are applied in the Virtual Olympic Museum.
