  • Abstract
In order to achieve high performances in data rate and spectral efficiency, Long Term Evolution(LTE) Radio Access Network(RAN) has employed Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(OFDM) on the physical layer. Due to the characteristics of OFDM, slight differences in frequency offset between an adjacent interferer and a LTE downlink signal leads to totally different impact of interference. This work presents an analysis upon the degrees of interference from a signal on neighboring band when the frequency offset and radio frequency(RF) nonliearities are taken into account. Other factors including RF impairments and size of bandwidths are taken into consideration in later discussions, thus the capability of interference-resistance of LTE User Equipment(UE) is verified by theoretical analysis and simulations. Overall, the analysis provides reliable reference for further study especially in LTE standardization and UE design.
