Abstract :
Second harmonic generation (SHG) in AlGaAs/AlOx microring waveguide is investigated considering effect of ambient temperature on the efficiency. Here, we show that thermo-optic phenomena can be utilized to tune the structure for efficient SHG or even switch to another second harmonic wavelength in the output. Thermal sensitivity of SHG in microring makes this structure appropriate for thermal modulation, switching or temperature sensing.
