Abstract :
Time delay and packet loss affects the information transmission in communication channel, implemented in smart grid for control applications. This paper discusses the frequency regulation of two area thermal-thermal (non-reheat type) power system with time delays and packet loss estimation. The time delay and packet loss are modeled using Markovian jump liner system (MJLS) approach with upper bound of delay being set by Markovian approach. The PI controller parameters optimized by Particle swarm optimization (PSO) is used in simulation of frequency deviation profile. The result shows that frequency deviation is minimum in terms of stability and transient response for varying time delays and packet losses.
