Abstract :
The paper discusses the dimensioning strategies of two network providers that supply wavelength channels to the same population of users in a competitive environment. Users are assumed to compete for best service, while operators wish to maximize their profits. This setting gives rise to a users game that determines the partition of primary traffic between operators; and a two-stage game between operators. These games are modelled and discussed.
