Abstract
Higher order modes in optical fiber present unique possibilities in terms of designing fibers for femtosecond pulse applications. A large mode area fiber using higher order modes with an effective area of 2100 mum2 is shown to allow for linear transmission of 14 nJ, femtosecond pulses
