Abstract
The National Academy of Engineering has launched a new center to support research on engineering education. The Center for the Advancement of Scholarship on Engineering Education seeks to a) enhancement the capacity for the conduct of high quality research on engineering education, b) encourage the integration of engineering education research and practice, and c) promote the efforts and interests of relevant stakeholders. This session will present a) preliminary results for an ongoing survey of education research priorities, b) an update on plans for a web portal linking journals devoted to education research in science and engineering disciplines, and c) an efforts to incorporate information from outside the engineering community into the our knowledge base.
