Abstract :
The time interval between periodical topology control executions is called hello interval. Unfortunately, to the best of our knowledge, just few numbers of researches are done on scheduling of topology control algorithms. This paper, presents a learning automata based algorithm (LA-PLAN) to determine an appropriate time interval for topology control. We have implemented the proposed algorithm upon LMST and Kneigh, which are two most well known topology control protocols. Our simulation results show that our proposed algorithm outperforms periodic topology control.
