Abstract :
The definition and development of parameters for adaptive e-leaming systems is complex and time consuming. In this paper an option for user modelling is proposed that supports the identification of users´ motivation for learning. Also cognitive features are hard to identify they represent very stable user parameters for adaptive systems. The Collaborative Analysis Lab (CoALa) is an empirical instrument to easily evaluate, structure and rank students motivation and needs for learning.
