Abstract
The Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) and Optical Beat Interference (OBI) is examined thoroughly in Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing Access (OFDMA)-Passive Optical Networks (PONs). Four techniques for mitigating the PAPR/OBI problem are evaluated, namely the bit-loading algorithm and clipping for the PAPR, and the power-loading and thermal detuning for the OBI.
