Abstract :
An approach to data-path mapping for designs with a large hardware sharing factor is described that combines flexible user-interaction mechanisms at the architectural level with dedicated optimization techniques for the algorithm to architecture mapping process. Compared to more traditional data-path allocation schemes, an important reduction of the interconnect cost is obtained. This reduction is obtained by applying an effective assignment technique, which forms the main part of this discussion
