Abstract
Survivability in WDM optical networks has been a subject of great interest recently. The idea used over the years is to establish a protection path so that, in case of failure, this path can be used. However, these proposals take into account neither the real situation of these paths nor the requirements of the applications. In this article an approach is proposed that takes said requirements into account, using genetic algorithms and fuzzy logic, additionally considering wavelength and SRLG (Shared Risk Link Group) constraints.
