Abstract :
Because of its immunity to multi-path propagation and high efficiency of using limited frequency bandwidth, OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) is often used in the underwater acoustic (UWA) communication. Underwater acoustic channel is very complex with co-channel interference, Doppler frequency offsets, time and frequency selective fading, so it is necessary to adopt channel coding technology to ensure the reliability of UWA communication. In this paper, the schemes of Coded OFDM and its application in UWA system are presented and simulation is carried on to study its performance. In the end of the paper, an experiment in lake is made. It is proofed through the simulation and the experiment that this method has a better performance in UWA communication.
