  • Abstract
    With the development of computer technology, computer medical image has gained a lot of importance in the clinical diagnosis and remedies. Its clinical application has a close link with image processing technology. Moreover, edge detection is one of the most important methods in the processing. A method in medical image edge detection based on multifractal theory is applied in the paper. The Holder exponent of image pixels is computed first, then its multifractal spectrum is estimated and different image pixels are classified, smoothing edge point; singular edge point. Based on multifractal theory, the set with both singular edge points and smoothing edge points is the set of image edge points. Experimental result showed that the method of image processing based on multifractal theory is a more effective and more local method.
